12th July 1913.
sir,
Referring to your letter of the 5th March, са No.5530/1913, and to previous correspondence, re-
specting the light pattern maxim guns ordered by
the Government of Hong Kong, I have the honour to
state that the guns were demanded from the War
Office on the 28th January last, and we are now informed
by Woolwich Arsenal that the contract has not yet been
placed for their supply. As the Government of Hong
Kong has already commented on the time required for
the delivery of these guns, the Secretary of State
may think it desirable to approach the War office
as to the delay before we report to the Colony.
I have the honour to be,
Sir,
Your obedient servant,
warde
for Crown Agents.
The Under Secretary of State,
&c., &c., &c.,
Colonial office.
