After due consideration of your letter of the
26th instant, in fairness to ourselves, we feel bound to
point out that you have considerably altered the conditions
under which we tendered for the erection of Wireless Sta-
tions for you in the Colonies.
Firstly, you have asked for the introduction of a
special Clause giving an indemification against infring-
ment of Patents.
Secondly, you have asked for Bonds of £1,000 per
Station for a period of eighteen months after the comple-
tion of the work.
the
We
In Clause 6 of the Special General Conditions under
which we tendered, we were to be discharged of all respon-
sibility regarding these Stations after a period of one
year, but under the Conditions which you now lay down,
Bonds for which you ask are to be maintained for eighteen
months from the date of the opening of each Station. would further point out that the prices of the various Statione tendered for are not the same, for example, in the
case of the Barbados Station, the Bonds for which you ask
would amount to 50% of the total value of the Station.
We wish to state that we tendered on the conditions which you originally laid down and the price we quoted was a very low one allowing only a small margin of profit for
ourselves and we cannot think that it is fair to hold us to
the original price at which we tendered when the conditions
under which we tendered are considerably altered.
We shall therefore be prepared to grant the Bonds
