Sir,

Tele-

We communicated to the Anglo-French Wireless

graph Co. Ltd the substance of your letter of 23rd May graph No.13938/13 relative to the proposed wireless telegraph

stations at Hong Kong, Barbados, Penang, Singapore and

Mombasa and I have now the honour to enclose a copy of their

reply.

The Company it will be seen are prepared to accept

the conditions laid down by the Secretary of State with

regard to the amount of the bond and the period during which

it shall be binding provided they are allowed to augment

the amount of their tenders by £175 per station. The

additional eum will still leave the Anglo French Company's

tenders very substantially lower than the offers submitted

by other Companies. I have accordingly to enquire whether

the Secretary of State will authorise us to enter into con-

tracts with them for the five stations in question on this

basis.

Under Secretary of State
