LONDON, S. W.

16th. Kay, 1913.

Sir,

I have the honour to state that the Chartered

Bank of India Australia and China have applied to us

for the release of Ms. 500,000 Prussian Consolidated

3% State Loan Bearer Bonds, which are held as security

for the Bank's note issue, and propose to deposit instead

£25,000 City of Bombay Improvement Trust 4 Bonds (1910). The current prices of these securities are as follows:-

Prussian Consolidated 3 State Loan, £75 per £100 Bond. City of Bombay Improvement Trust 4% Bonds (1910)

£98 per £100 Bond

2.

Neither of the issues are Trustee Securities

but we already hold Bombay Improvement Trust Bonds 88

part of the security of the Bank and we therefore propose to allow the Bank to make the exchange desired.

The Under Secretary of State,

&c. &c.,

I have the honour to be,

Sir,

Your obedient Servant,
