With reference to your letter of the 27th Adiny September No.29733 relative to the projected Low Power Wireless Station at Hong Kong, I am commanded by my Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty to acquaint you, for the
information of the Secretary of State for the Colonies,
that they have received from the War Office copy of the
letter from that Department of the 1st July which makes
the concurrence of the Army Council in the site at Cape
d'Aguilar contingent upon satisfactory arrangements being
made to dismantle it in the event of war, when such action
is considered necessary by the military authorities.
2.- As however (pending the completion of a High
Power Station) the Low Power Station might be of great
value to the Fleet in war, My Lords cannot see their way to co-operate in a scheme which might leave the Colony without means of Wireless Telegraph communication at a critical moment. They are desirous however of meeting the commercial requirements of the Colonial Government as far as possible, and they think that a discussion between representatives of the Departments concerned might remove the difficulty. They are therefore inviting the Army Council to send a representative to a conference on this subject, and I am to express the
