Referring to the correspondence noted in the
margin, I have the honour to enquire
whether it has yet been possible to select a second Assistant Analyst and
an Apothecary. The matter is pressing inasmuch as Mr. Taylor, Apothecary and Assistant Analyst will have to take up work at the Imports and Exports Office
on 1st. January and it will be very difficult to make arrangements for the performance of his duties at the Government Civil Hospital in the absence of the new officers.

The Principal Civil ledical Officer suggests that if considerable difficulty is still experienced in obtaining an apothecary, the War Office might be approached with a view to seconding a Corporal or Sergeant of the Royal Army liedical Corps
for the duties.
