I have the honour to inform you that I have granted a pension reduced from £47. lls. 11d. to £42 under clause, 3 of the Police Pensions Regulations (page 438 of the Regulations of Hongkong) to Lance-Sergeant John Lenaghan who has been retired from the Police Force on the ground of ill-health,

This man joined the Force on 31st. October, 1898,

and had a clean record up to September, 1912, by which time he had attained the rank of Full Sergeant. Subsequently he was more or

less constantly under the influence or effects of alcohol.

3.

In view of his good record prior to September,

1912, and of the Medical Report, copy of which is enclosed, the

Executive Council, whom I consulted in the matter, were of opinion

that he should be granted the reduced pension I have named.
