Referring to your Despatch No. 287 of 13th. September, I have the honour to inform you that the question of the grant of an increased pension to Mr. R. H. A. Craig has been considered by the Executive Council who while recognizing the good work done by him as Assistant Superintendent of the Prison, were of opinion that the circumstances of the case did not justify them in recommending an increased rant.

In coming to this decision the Council took
into account the fact that in 1910 the allowance of $600 to the Assistant Superintendent for superintendence of printing was in effect merged in Mr. Craig's salary thereby increasing his pension. In this connection I would refer you to Lord Crewe's Despatch lo......... 24726 150 of 12th. August, 1909.
