RECE IRA 30 OCT 13 Recent robberies on ferry boats have resulted in six killed and over twenty wounded. Booty not assessable. On the steam launch "Kung Ho*

there were several killed. Min Chih Pao 1.

Ch'en Ts'un-Shih Ch'iao. Several passengers were killed at

Heng Chiang on board the steam launch "Jung Po". The

"Pi Chiang" was pirated twice in ten days. The "Chen

An" was pirated and one killed. The "Ho Yi" was pirated

and over 86,000 stolen. Min Chih Pao 1.

Lai Shek. The "Ting Hs ing" ferry boat was pirated on August

22 at Hai Kou. Over $1,000 booty captured.

Hain-An-Sha Ching district calls for troops to resist rob-

-bera.

-quests that help be sent to that district as the water- -way is held up by pirates. Han Yueh 3. P'an Yu-Shih Pi. Several robbers since the declaration of

independence have robbed the Yung T'uan arms depot and twice pirated two ferry boats. Min Chin Pao 4. Høin An-Ta P'eng Ch'eng. Several hundred houses plundered.

Troops arrived and robbers retired; troops however left again and robbers threaten another attack. An appeal has been made to the Canton Authorities for protection.

Min Chih Pao 6.

Fatahan-Hai Li Yu Sha. A band of pirates is levying toll on

all craft passing up and down. Min Chih Pao 8. Fatehan-Kao T'ang ferry was pirated on the 12th. September

at Shek Mun. Several women were injured. 72 Hang Shang

Pao 15.

Ai-men. On September 10th. the Maritime Customs station at

Ai Men was entered and robbed by some dozen brigands who
