Paraphrase telegram from Hongkong 14th. August, 1913.
Secretary of State, London.
In regard to your telegram of 8th. instant, General Lung reached Canton City on 11th. August and following day intermittent conflicts took place between part of rebel troops and his own force: these conflicts continue. General Bere can spare one regiment with 4 guns to safeguard railway; Commodore can help with Gunboats to guard the bridges at Sheklung. His Majesty's Charge d'Affaires cognisant of latter arrangements. Employment of troops by land will not be necessary probably but H. M. S. Robin
has gone Sheklung to guard bridges there.
