of fishing junk o. unknown, 51 picule capacity reported that while sailing off the Island of Sam Cho near Macao at about 9 p.m. 7th. July, he was met by a long narrow boat with 9 men who were all armed. They fired 2 shots and told him to come up to Port, when they took possession of his boat and contents to the value of about $20, his son, aged 24 years, and a foki aged 20 years were both held for a ransom of $200 each which he was told to find with- -in a week. He and another foki, which comprised the crew were put on board a passage boat for Macao at 9 a.. on the following morn- -ing. The pirates told the passage boat people not to collect fares from them,
