as followG: I have received a private message from

Yuan that Central Authorities have given orders for

tue Chinese war vessels in Kwangtung waters to leave

the district over wiich the revolutionaries have away.

It is reported that the three which have already done so

ere now in Hongtong waters and that the other six will

continue their allegiance to Yuan and will follow.

Yuan requests permission for these loyal men of war to

remain in dongsong waters.

No objection to these vessels staying here and I

propose to enswer to this effect. The following vossole

have arrived horo to date: 1 gumboat and 2 Salt Rexenue

cruisers. Tho Canton Government has desired pornit to

tow the former to Canton, but I answered that permission

would only be given if the vessel's captain offered no

objection. Hostilities have been suspended in Kwang tung

osing to torrential rains. It is reported that the

Governor General, Chan Kwing Ning, has fled.
