In reply to your letters lo. A/7966/1 of the 2nd. and 3rd. instant, I have the honour to enquire whether the pro- -posed new road, from the Battery site on Jubilee Road to the pro- -posed Battery above the 500 foot contour, is intended to be handed over to the Colonial Government as a public road on completion of
the Defence Works projected.
This would refer as a matter of course only to
that portion of the road which lies outside the area reserved for
defence works.
