With reference to my telegrams of the 19th.and 2q2826th. July, I have the honour to report with much regret the death

of lur. A. T. Walker, Executive hgineer, Public Works Department, which took place at the Government Civil Hospital at 9.30 p.m. on

the 27th. July.

Mr. Walker had no parents living but the address

of his brother is registered in the Colonial Office. He leaves a

widow who had recently left the Colony for urope on account of her

health.

3.

It was lir. Walker's wish that his wife should

not be informed officially of his illness but letters have been

addressed to her privately by friends in the Colony.

4.

I enclose for your information a copy of a

report on Mr. Walker's illness by the Superintendent of Government

Civil Hospital together with a copy of a minute by the Director of

Public Works.

5.

The sum due to Mrs. Walker under the Widows and

Orphans' Pensions is £109 . 2 2 per annum and I shall be glad if the Crom Aents may be instructed to make payments as they become

due.
