committee, the Honourable Hr. Fletcher, did everything he could to assist the witness and encourage her to identify Your Petitioner) In addition to this Your
Petitioner absolutely denies having had any relations
whatever with Mr. Xavier's kept women.

(h). The remaining evidence is that of the Head of the
Sanitary Department, Mr. D. W. Tratman, from whose
evidence it can be seen that Your Petitioner was
perfectly within his rights in being on the premises.
Mr. Tratman also in his evidence stated that during his
period as Head of the Department Your Petitioner had
given every satisfaction, but that he could not speak
with regard to his previous character. Your Petitioner however, proposes to deal with that question later.
Your Petitioner then gave his evidence, to an outline
of which you are referred. Your Petitioner at the close of his evidence was examined by the Committee, was asked to give if he could, any motive for this charge being brought against him, and Your Petitioner states that he considers the reason set out in the resume of
and supplying evidence to be absolutely a good one,
fully sufficient motive.

Your Petitioner now submits that upon consideration of the evidence, there is absolutely nothing to warrant the committee in finding Your Petitioner guilty of the charges
against him,

Your Petitioner further says that he has had no com- plaints against him during his period of service in the Sanitary Department and has steadily risen the rank of a temporary inspector to that of a second class inspector.
