Your Petitioner had previously been informed by the Head

of the Sanitary Department that the evidence taken down by the

Attorney General's shorthand writer had been sent to him for

revision and required considerable correction, which was made.

Your Petitioner does not know whether the evidence of the

other witnesses was similarly revised: but has been denied as

above mentioned copies of all the evidence whether revised or

not.

Your Petitioner understands that the Committee which

investigated the charges against him made certain recommenda-

tions to His Excellency the Governor in Council upon certain

evidence which was put before His Excellency in Council but

your Petitioner does not know whether such evidence was as revised and amended by the witnesses themselves without his knowledge or as actually given: and Your Petitioner has been afforded no opportunity of re-examining the witnesses on such

reversed and amended statements.

Your Petitioner is therefore very much handicapped in dealing the evidence that was given against him.

9. At the hearing the committee consisted of the Honourable the Attorney General (Kr. J.A.0.Bucknill,K.C.) the Honourable E. A. Hewett, 0..G. and the Honourable the Colonial Treasurer
