That Your Petitioner was later notified by letter to
appear before a committee of the Executive Council on the
13th. May, 1913 to answer the charges preferred against him.
4. That Your Petitioner applied for, but was refused
permission to be represented by Counsel at the said hearing.
6. That Your Petitioner duly appeared before the Committee
of the Executive Council on the 15th. May, 1913 when the two
charges were investigated.
6. That on the 2nd. day of June, 1913, Your Petitioner was,
notified verbally by Mr. D. W. Tratman Head of the Sanitary
Department that Your Petitioner had been recommended for
dismissal and that his suspension would continus pending the
decision of the Secretary of State for the colonies.

That Your Petitioner applied for a copy of the evidencej given against him with a view to framing a petition to the Secretary of State, and in reply there to received a letter in the words and figures following, that is to say:-

With reference to your application for a copy of the Notes of the evidence taken at your trial before the committee of the Executive Council I am directed to inform you that these notes will not be transmitted to the Secretary
of State and that no such copy can be furnished to you.
I am also to request you to prepare your Petition to the Secretary of State with all possible speed.
