I am directed by the General Officer Command-
-ing to inform you that site (b) must be ruled out altogether, as being quite outside any possible line of defence.
Site (a) is entirely a suitable one from a
military point of view. The opinion of the Naval Authorities should however be taken as to whether the proposed works will interfere in any way with the Naval Rifle Range on Stonecutters.
