With reference to my Despatch No. 165 of this
date, I have the honour to inform you that Mr. R. A. J. Savage is alleged to be of somewhat intemperate habits which fact may serve as some guidance in his examination by a Medical Officer.

I am informed that his intemperance has not
interfered with the execution of his official duties except perhaps
by the consequent undermining of his constitution.
