With reference to the recent seizure of opium found on board the S. 8. *Loong Sang" by the Manile Customs, I am direct- -ed to request you to be so good as to approach the Authorities with a view to furnishing this Government with a x sample of the opium in question.

This Government will also be glad to be furnished with any particulars of the case which the Manila Authorities may be willing to give.
