May, K.C.M.G., Governor and Commander-in-Chief of the Colony of Hongkong and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same, in Executive Council, send GREETING:

WHEREAS, by the Opium Ordinances to come into force on the lat. March, 1913, it is enacted amongst other things, that the Governor-in-Council may grant, in the manner provided by the said Ordinances, to any person, for such considerations and on such conditions and for such periods and in such form as, from time to time, may be determined by the Governor-in-Council, the sole privilege of preparing Opium, and of selling, within the Colony, Opium ao prepared, inclusive of the privilege of collect- -ing drose and of preparing and dealing in Dross Opium, AND that the grantee of such privileges, before he shall become entitled to the benefit thereof, shall give such security as the Governor-in-Council may require for the due performance of the conditions of such privileges and of his stipulations or agreement

in respect thereof; AND WHEREAS the Governor-in-Council has

accordingly agreed to grant to HO KAM TONG, CHAN KAI MING, LAU CHU

PAK and LEUNG YAN PO all of Victoria in the said Colony of Hong- -kong gentlemen which such persons will carry on the Opium Farm

under the style or name of TAI ON (hereinafter referred to as

"The Grantee" which said expression shall include each of the said

Ho Kan Tong, Chan Kai Ming, Lau Chu Pak and Leung Yan Po their the survivor on survivors of the said Hok Jong, Chan Kor Ming, dai chi fall and thing you Pow the executors & administon tou executors and administratora of such survivor) the privileges here-

-inbefore mentioned, and known as the Opium Farm, established under

the said Opium Ordinances for the term of one year from the 1st.

day of March, 1913, (inclusive), for the monthly sum of 898,600.00

on the conditions (hereinafter) contained: AND WHEREAS the Grantes

has given the prescribed security for such grant to the satisfac-

-tion of the Governor-in-Council.

KNOW YE, therefore, that in pursuance of the said agree-

-ment and in consideration of the premises and of the payment by

the Grantee of the monthly sum of 898,600.00 on the First day of
