Wrote to his wife as to her approaching marriage

and mixed up his bød leg in Englund with that of his brother
in law (who was Jeally the invalid) His wife eøys his harde
writing and spelling have changed. He is very restless and
continually on the neve.
24th, Broke open the clothes cupboard, took out his clothec
and went out though he was told in the morning he could not ge
out. This is the first time he has been troublesome. On my que»-
tioning him he denied the whole occurrence.
He remained much in the same condition till February Be
when his wife took him eut te Oreen Island dr the hopes thu
chenge might do him good.
14th Tebuwety - He was brought back as his friends found him
too much trouble. He was always wanting to go to Hong Kong and
they were frail he might either try to swim across or hire &
bout

and get away on his own He also abarted secreting anything
he could find and upestling the house in this way. He was #lev
inclined to be rough with him wife though he had always been e
very good husband in emery way.
19th.February His condition has been much the same. He was
found wandering about all over the floor and came domatal:s te
use the telephone though he could not tell me what he wanted to
use it for: Found his way into fistere duty room and stole a gold
watch bracelet. This was recovered from him by Sergi Carrod after
motom trouble as he resected having his clothes searched
mest forgetful about smoking in bed and in the ward but alwage
denies the accusation. Last night he kept wandering about trying
to steml cigarettes, soap ko. from other patients lockers.
20th February

Used very bad language at breakfast. This is
the first time he has done so here, his conversation being lirMed
to "yes" or "ng* . Went round the ward drinking the other patients
and brandy (whilet Gister was away) / torke soda water off his qüimes and refused to put them or as he wished
to go about naked. He was then transfersed to the Asylum,
