-tion and as salary at the rate of £405 per annum will lapse
during the period of Ir. Wakeman's half-pay leave I propose,provid-
-ed the work is performed satisfactorily, to recommend that for
the period in question Mr. Jacks should be given a bonus equal to
half the initial salary of his substantive post, and I shall be
