Sir,

14222 Chambers, Rec 293

Courts of Justice, HongkongAPR 13

3rd. February, 1913.

I have the honour to forward to Your Excellency the notes of evidence taken in the case of Rex v. Ibrahim who was tried before me and convicted unanimously of murder. The case was one of great importance, and on the first trial the Jury failed to agree.

2. Counsel for the prisoner raised points of much legal interests and importance which he desired to take to His Majesty's Privy Council.

3. I deemed it my duty after the Full Court had given its decision against the pri soner to respite the death sentence for three months, with the view of enabling the prisoner to apply for leave to the Privy Council to appeal on the legal points raised, and in the event of such appeal to the Privy Council being heard until His Majesty's pleasure be known.

His Excellency

The Governor,&c..

I have etc., (Sd.) W. Rees Davies,

Chief Justice.
