In continuation of my Confidential Despatch of
the 21st. ultimo, I have the honour to transmit for your informa-
-tion the enclosed copy of a telegram and of a letter which I caus- -ed to be addressed on the 27th. ultimo and 6th. instant respective-
-ly to the Colonial Secretary of the Straits Settlements on the
