New Form of Prize Loan Bonds.
On account of the large number of forged notes in circulation,
and in view of the forthcoming draw for prize under the public
loan bond scheme, the Commissioner of Finence, in the recent issue
of these bonds, has taken every precaution against imitation. He
has a record kept of the numbers of the bonds and a seal impressed partly on the bonds and partly on the record, in order that the bonds may be checked and forgery prevented. Again because the
issue of these bonds is prohibited in foreign ports on account of
the resemblance to a lottery, he has had some of the bonds made in
a smaller form than the original ones, bearing only a denomina-
-tion and number but not the regulations as regards prizes, nor the coupons, that so they may be sent abroad, for sale and the required funds raised for the improvement of the financial state
of the various localities.
