I have the honour to state that it has been
brought to my attention that modifications of the Pension Rules in
force in the United Kingdom, were, some time ago, in contemplation,
whereby there was to be established the principle of gratuities to
Civil Servants on voluntary resignation from the service before
they had qualified for pension.
2.
I should be glad to be furnished with such
information on this matter as may be at your disposal and further
to enquire whether or not you would be disposed to favour the
introduction of such modifications into the Regulations governing
Pensions and Gratuities in this Colony.
