Hon. C. S.
1.
I am now writing to ask if His Excellency the Governot would kindly forward and recommend my application to be made a King':
Counsel of the Colony.
2.
I mentioned the matter when I was at Home in June last,
and was told that, I had better apply formally at the beginning of
this year.
3.
I accordinglī attach an application in Triplicate.
I may mentánnthat Six years ago I was to have been made King's Counsel of the Transvaal had I remained there.
4.
I also send for your information a copy of The Secretary of State's reply to me when I applied in 1910 to be made a King's
Counsel in Cyprus.
5.
I venture to think that it is desirable that the Attorney
General here should be a King's Counsel as he is the Leaderof the Bar, and there are other professional gentlemen practising who are King's Counsel and whom it is desirable that the Attorney General
should be able to meet on an equal professional footing ·
