Ming Fui ( Sworn Brotherhood ) which planned the

overthrow of the two Kwang Provinces, started the

revolution in Canton and has been agitating for a

predominant influence in the Government of China.

The revolution in Wuchangwas started by quite a

different party, headed by Li Yuen-hing, and now

called the Republican Party,

I understand that in North China the Tung

Ming Wui has recently assumed the style of the

Nationalist Party. It's leaders are Sun Yat Sen,

Wong Hing, Wong Ching-wei and Wu Hon Man, the

present Governor-General of the Kwang tung Province.

It was through the Sze Yap Association that

money and men were procured from Hongkong for the

revolution at Canton. When Canton was handed over

to the revolutionary party, Li Yuk-tong was made

the Provincial Treasurer and almost all the

important positions under the new Provincial Government

were given to Sze Yap men. At the beginning the Sze Yap Association was the right hand of the Canton Government. It constituted it's intelligence

department, commissiariat and financial agency.

Li Yuk-tong went to Canton as Provincial Treasurer

a poor man. He held office for a few months and returned to Hongkong worth many hundred of thousands of dollars. He has since invested over $100,000

in Hongkong in land alone.

5. When the Chinese in Hongkong representing other districts in China saw that the power in Canton was drifting into the hands of the Sze Yap Association, and that the latter were, by their
