for my pension from Hongkong, and retire from the Colonial

service, which is not at all in conformity with my inclinations.

In this connection, it is not out of place to point out that the

pension to which I should be entitled, about £200 per annum

is not commensurate with my thirty years' service under the Crown.

5. I therefore appeal to the Right Honourable the

Secretary of State for the Colonies to grant me this appointment, or, if this cannot be done, an administratorship, and enable me

to remain in the service of the State, in which my whole life has

been spent, from childhood until now,

I have the honour to be,

Sir,

your most obedient servant

Bunt Sugn

Commander R.N.

Harbout Master &c:
