I understand that Commander Basıl Taylor, R.N.. who
is at present Harbour Master at Hong Kong, and who has
been employed in that capacity or as Assistant Harbour
Master for the past 12 years, is anxious to get the
appointment of Commissioner at Timasol, Cyprus, which
either is vacant now or is about to full vacant.
You have, I know, in the Colonial Office a full
record of Commander Taylor's various services, and so I
will not recapitulate them, and you are no doubt fully
aware of the work especially that he has done in the
appointment which he now holds.
I am, therefore, only writing to you to ask you if
you will do what you can to further his wishes, as I feel
sure that you will find him a useful and satisfactory
