Of the period during which Lt. Wanner has been attached to the C.O., is deducted from the half-pay leave for which he is eligible, it will be same years and before he again leaves. I should therefore be glad if, in view of the special circumstances of the case, you would request the C.O. to agree that the period of his attachment be not counted as leave for the purpose of calculating the half-pay leave that may be granted to him in future. The period will only count as half service for pension, but it will not be deducted from the amount of half-pay leave for which he is eligible. The period of the voyage back to the Malay Peninsula and the time spent in this country after his attachment will be treated as leave in the ordinary manner.
