With reference to the 26th instant, I transmit herewith copy of my dispatch No. 401250 of the 29th Aug. 1912, & the enclosed correspondence with S.B.C. regarding Mr Ross's leave of absence.

  1. You will observe that Mr Ross has been informed that he may take leave of absence after he ceases to be attached to the C.O. in October, on condition that his departure for Hongkong is not delayed beyond the first week in January next.
  1. Mr Ross will have exhausted all the half pay leave for which he is eligible under the regulations on the 29th of December next, but in the circumstances, you are authorised to sanction his receiving half pay until his arrival in Hong Kong.
  1. There is however another point to which I desire to draw your attention regarding the period...
