11th November, 1912.
Dear Sir,
Enclosed, I send you a letter I have this morning
received from a Constituent of mine relating to his Son, Alfred
Ward, of the Hong Kong Police Service.
It appears that after having been in the Force for a
little more than a year only, under a five years agreement, he ha:
been asked to send in his resignation under the ciroumstances set:
out in the letter.
If the facts submitted to me are correct, it does seem
a great hardship on the young man, as he must have been acting
under the orders of his superior Officer.
I should be greatly obliged if you would kindly have
the circumstances inquired into with a view to getting Ward
re-instated or sent back home, if either of these courses are
possible.
Yours faithfully,
houndtury ward
