Dear Sir,

Enclosed, I send you a letter I have this morning received from a Constituent of mine relating to his Son, Alfred Ward, of the Hong Kong Police Service.

It appears that after having been in the Force for a little more than a year only, under a five years agreement, he has been asked to send in his resignation under the circumstances set out in the letter.

If the facts submitted to me are correct, it does seem a great hardship on the young man, as he must have been acting under the orders of his superior Officer.

I should be greatly obliged if you would kindly have the circumstances inquired into with a view to getting Ward re-instated or sent back home, if either of these courses are possible.
