I have the honour to inform you of my return from Hong Kong, when I was acting nursing sister for the space of 3 yrs.
Before leaving I wrote to the Government asking for a gratuity at the end of my agreement; later, I was told, my request had been sent to you.
Last year, as you know, we requested that the term of service might be shortened; also that 3 mths full pay might be granted as a bonus in lieu thereof, pointing out the necessity of obtaining leave immediately on our return to England, as the exigences of the service do not permit us to take the local leave mentioned in our agreement, we thought it fair that we should obtain the full pay which has been allowed to lapse.
