I have the honour to acknowledge your letter of 27th March regarding h.1330/1912 concerning your appointment in Hong Kong, Medical Affairs.
As I see that a house is not promised nor private practice allowed, I do not think the appointment is any better than my present one, the drawbacks outweighing the improvements in various factors.
I understand that I should be obliged to leave for Hong Kong at once in case of acceptance within a month.
When I showed your letter only to my wife, she has been home and therefore not prepared to back up the appointment.
