I have done my work properly on the dates set out in charges, and no complain for the lack of work has been made by eny peak resi-
sent.
And according to conditions Nos. 3 arid 8 of the Peak Watchmans standing orders, only the senior Inspector has to deal with him.

And by complaining against me both Inspectors Prith and Fincher have exceeded their duties as they were not in charge of Peak scavenging work, where I worked and as fer es know the Senftery Inspector are only responsible to see that the men under their charge are carrying out their duties properly, and so I was under the charge of Inspector Fisher.
And if there was any reason to give them instructions to look after me why the very Inspector Fisher in charge of Peak scavenging
work where I worked was not instructed to waton me, and beside
Inspector Fisher there are European Constables patrolling the Peak District by day and night, the instructions can be given to them to
watch me and prosecute we in the lawful way.
And I know very well that some times ago a complain was made by
some Indians watchmen of Elgin Street against Sanitary foremen named Gojat Singh of No. 5 Health District, that he comes every morning to
their house to get tes, instructions were given to Inspector Reidio
who was in charge of the scavenging work of No. Health District
where that foreman worke, who watched him and found him in the house
of complainants, and told him at the same to come and see the Head
of Sanitary Department at 11 a.m. on the seme day, who was dismissed
as also heretofore he had been fined several times for neglect of
duties &c.,
But this has not been done in my case, the charges brought
against me are false and illegal and after the slapse of about IF
days after the occurrence, and * es the Sanitary Department offices
are open daily why the daily occurrence have not been dealt with
daily as in case of the other servants of senitary department end
other Government Departments.
"
And therefore no such charges of absence from duty &c has been
