I am directed by the Secretary of State for
India in Council to acknowledge the receipt of your

letter of the 9th December, No. 36716/1912, on the
subject of opium legislation at Hongkong, and to state
that a copy of that letter and its enclosures, with
the exception of the Bill, will be forwarded to the
Government of India. The copy of the Bill is
returned herewith as requested. I am to ask that a
copy of the Act when pussed may be furnished to this
Office, and to suggest that a copy should also be
forwarded direct by the Governor of Hongkong to the
Goverment of India.
