A case has been pending for the last three years
between the China Coercini Steamship Company and the Nex-
ican Goverment concerning the improper detention of cer-
thin steamships belonging to the Company at the Port of Sa-
line. Cruz and their final repulse from the country. In
order to provide you with an account of the c&88, I have
the honour to enclose, her with, a copy of « petition ad-
dressed by the Vice President of the Company to the Depart-
