With reference to the latter from this Lepartment of
the 10th. instant, on the subject or the proposed establish-
ment of a light in the vicinity of the Puracole Leef, China
wen, i am directed by secretary sir 2. drey to inform jou
that the Board of Trade are advised that the orection of a
light in the neighbourhood of this roof would not be of great
assistance to navigation as it would be impossible to place a
light on any ons of the group of islands or reefs which would
serve to mark all the roofs in the group.
