Inspector General of Customs on the prospect of the
Chinese Government increasing their contribution but Mr.
Aglen does not consider that an appeal in that sense
would be well-founded and I am inclined to agree with
him on the information before me. I beg to enclose
copy of his letter as well as copy of a despatch which
I am addressing to Sir F. May enquiring whether His
Excellency desires me to take any formal steps in the
matter.
