With reference to your letter of the 28th ultimo D. (18808/12) I am directed by Secretary Sir E. Grey
to
transmit to you herewith for the information of the
Secretary of State for the Colonies a draft Order-in-
Council respecting the registration of British
Companies in China.
The draft Order is printed in large type, and
the paragraphs in small type are notes by Sir H. de
Sausmarez on the provisions of the Order.
am to suggest that it would be desirable that
your Department should depute one of its members to
discuss this question at an early date with repre-
sentatives of the Board of Trade and of this Depart-
ment, and I am to propose that the meeting should
take place in the near future at the Foreign Office.
