Brigade Major,

In Indent No. 11, 1910-13, item No. 423, four

boxes, small stores, 3. 95-inch Q.F.Gün were demanded, at an

estimated cost of 25. 10 each, at which boxes of the same

pattern had previously been supplied by Mesure Vickers,

Haxin & gons. Item 423 has been the subject of corresponden

ence, vide Crow Agent#' letters No.602 G/N. Nigeria, and 23 G/N. Nigeria, over 2039, dated 4th July, 1910 and 10th

January, 1911, respectively. In correspondence with the

War office submitted under this latter letter, it was shown

that the Crown Agents had ordered the boxes from the War

office, the estimated rate of supply being £1. 12 each box.

An Invoice has now been rendered for thess

4 boxes, which are charged for at a total cost of £21. 9. 6.

and as no report seems to have been made as to any variation

in the estimated rate it might be well to invite the special

notice of the Crown Agents to the difference, which amounte

to about £15.
