construction of the Law Courts and a qualified European Overseer to supervise the Post Office, these being the two principal works under his charge, and in addition he had some Chinese foremen. Mr. Little, who had arrived in the Colony on the 6th. May, 1904, resigned his appointment on account of private affairs on the 23rd. February, 1907, and steps were taken to obtain a successor from England. kr. Little however applied for re-appointment which was granted and he arrived back in the Colony on the 22nd. September, 1907. He ultimately resigned his appointment on the 31st. October, 1909, in order to start private practice in the Colony. Mr. Wright, who arrived in the Colony on the 15th. July, 1903, continued with Mr. Fisher until the 7th. October, 1908, when, in consequence of the constant complaints made by Mir. Fisher regarding him, I transferred him to the Buildings Ordinance Office in which a vacancy arose. I would further point out that, about the middle of 1907, Mr. Fisher voluntarily undertook to design and supervise, on ue- -half of the College of Medicine, a School of Anatomy. This was entirely
outside his official duties.
On the 20ta. February, 1909, Mr. Fisher applied for additional assistance and I submitted his letter to Government with particulars of the works he had in hand. I stated that I thought that he and his Assistant (Mr. Little) should be able to overtake the work then in hand and I pointed out that he had voluntarily undertaken the design of the School of Anatomy, which he might have declined if he found his official duties so enervus as he represented. His applica- -tion was re fused by Government.
On the 14th. April, 1909, Er. Fisher adressed a
