I enclose a report from Mr. Lovegrove 2nd. officer on the rescue of S. Lenard last voyage at Hongkong also a Report
from the ship's doctor on the condition of Lenard after he was
brought on board.
I have not been able to find out any particulars of the sampan which brought the two men off. The number might possibly be got from the note book of the constable who was on duty at Blake Pier about 10.30 p.m. Saturday September 7th. The following particulars about Lenard are taken from the ship's articles. S. Lenard A.B. Age 20. Born Melbouane Australia. Address High Street Melbourne. He left the ship on our arrival at Vancouver Oct. 6th. and I have no idea of his present whereabouts.
Yours etc..
(Sd.) S. Robinson,
Commander R. M. S. *Empress of "apan".
