Service if still under the rank of Sergeant that he be entitled to the present privileges of the rank of Sergeant regarding pass-
-ages, and that quarters be provided for all married men.
That the granting of this privilege would be do away with one of the men's principal grievances, and would improve the morale
of the Force, and at the same time put the Police Force on the
same terms as the Junior Members of the Civil Service, who have recently been granted this privilege.

That full pay be granted to Members of the Force when on leave
in lieu of half-pay as now granted.
Petitioners say that the actual pay of the Police is con- -siderably less than that of other branches of the Service, in
consideration of their being provided quarters, but that this should not affect them to the extent that it does, when on leave, compared with the half pay of better paid Members of the Govern-
-ment Service, in whose pay is included their House Allowance.
That the granting of this would allow many married men and their families to take leave, who under present conditions cannot
do 30.
8. That Members of the Force going on leave, on special applica- -tion, be granted the choice of an alternate route provided that the cost does not exceed that, what it at present costs the
Government.
That this would allow many Kembers of the Force, the pri- -vilege of visiting their relatives in d other Countries en route whilst on leave: A privilege that could not be thought of, if Peticioners were once home in England.
9. That the attention of the Government be called to the very poor accomodation provided to the European Members of the Force in General. That the quarters are totally unfit, and in our
opinion, in some cases, highly dangerous.
Petitioners say that there is absolutely no privacy. That twenty or more men are often quartered in one room. That their
quarters are sometimes alongside and on the same floor as Asiatics, which is not considered advisable.
