Enclosure 3.

gredi
Sir,
Supreme Court, Hongkong,
26th. June, 1912.
C.0.
40735
Rece RECE 43 DEC 12)
I have the honour to request that you will
kindly forward to the Hon. Colonial Secretary for the consider-
ation of His Excellency the Governor my application for either
a transfer to some other Department or an increase of my present
salary. I have now been ten years without any increase of salary
whatever and on account of the difference in exchange, I am
8 now actually drawing about $45 less a month than I drew years
ago.
During the last decade the cost of living has
greatly increased and my present salary is insufficient to
keep myself and family.
I have been five years in my present post and
during that time have always endeavoured to give satisfaction
to my superiors and I trust have succeeded in doing so; but as
I see no chance of promotion in the Interpretation Sub-depart-
ment, I would respectfully request that I be transferred to some;
other department where I shall have some prospects of bettering
myself.
The Registrar,
Supreme Court.
I am,
etc.
