For any permit to lease land from the Government a fee
of X10 is to be paid, and $2 for every renewal of the permit.
For a licence to work any small mine which does not
exceed 200 Lau in area and for which the capital provided is less than
$2,000, a fee of £15 is charged, and the licence is to be renewed once
a year, the fee for renewal being 85.
All these fees shall be paid to the Comissioner of
Industry.
Chapter VII.
Regulation 30. Each licence for prospecting for mines entitles the
holder to prospect over not more than 30 square Li of land, but not to
dig out and remove away secretly any unreasonably large quantity of ore. Regulation 31. The term for prospecting for any mine shall be one year,
subject to an extension of six months. Proper persons shall be appoint-
-ed to prospect for the proposed mine not later than 4 months after the
issue of the licence which shall not be mortgaged, sold or transferred.
Regulation 321 Any Government land which is not reserved for any pur- -pose way be prospected when the required licence has been duly obtain- -ed. In the case of land owned by private persons, the consent of the landlord must be first secured,
Regulation 33. When several applications for prospecting for mines in
the same place have been sent in simultaneously the applicant who is
backed by the largest capital shall have the prior claim, and when all the applicants have about the same capital, the applicant who was the first to send in his application and has properly entered into agree- -ment with the landlords shall be approved first.
Regulation 34. Any application for permission to prospect over any land under private ownership must have the written consent of the landlords in the following form before his application can be granted;-
