to His Britannic Majesty's Consul-General at Canton and I will
report in due course the development of this case.

I have sent a copy of this Despatch to His Britannic Majesty's Minister at Peking to whom the Consul-General
has now reported fully on the facts of the case. I would add that
if His Majesty's Government can assist His Majesty's Minister in removing what is a very great injustice to an old established
Hongkong Firm I shall be very glad.
