BALLAST:

Earth and Sand Ballast has been used throughout, but as
this method involves considerable maintenance especially in
wet weather, it has been decided to gradually ballast the
Line with ashes and clinkers from the Main Line Loco Shed,
which material has, in any case, to be removed periodically.
This is gradually being done.
PERIOD OF CONSTRUCTION:
Uonstruction was commenced in April 1911 and completed
to mile 64 by December 1911, this Section was opened for
Traffic in December 1911 while the completion of the Line
was held up for some time pending arrival of the necessary
Rails. The hole Line was completed and opened on 1st April
1912.
ROLLING STOCK:
The Rolling Stock consists of two locomotives of about three tons, transferred from Main Line Construction lant. Six coaches seating six & side, which were built upon the underframes of old tip wagons and two double bogie goods brakes of 72 cubic feet capacity built at the Railway Workshops, fur- ther and more substantial goods wagons are in course of con-
struction and will be in use as soon as completed.
